El presidente del Poder Judicial, Javier Villa Stein, manifestó que no le corresponde al ex presidente Alberto Fujimori la pena máxima por haberse acogido a la figura de la “conclusión anticipada” y haber aceptado los cargos en su contra en el juicio por delitos de corrupción.
No obstante, precisó, el ex mandatario debe “contribuir con transparencia y franqueza” a resolver la verdad en los actos de corrupción que se cometieron en los casos “congresistas tránsfugas”, “interceptación telefónica” y “cable canal de noticias”.
“No debería tocarle (la pena máxima) porque (la terminación anticipada) es una institución premial. Lo normal es que el tribunal establezca una pena menor que la máxima”, refirió.
Fujimori será sentenciado esta mañana por la Sala Penal Especial de la Corte Suprema, luego de haberse acogido a la conclusión anticipada el último lunes.
Villa Stein resaltó la profesionalidad y calidad moral de los magistrados que han tenido a su cargo los cuatro juicios al ex mandatario.
“El desempeño del Poder Judicial en este materia y con este procesado ha sido impecable. Ha estado a cargo de magistrados de primerísimo nivel. Hemos hecho un despliegue de calidad personal que fortalece al Poder Judicial y en su conjunto al país”, anotó.
